Isn’t this Candy Bleakz nomination in AFRIMMA Awards Best Female Rap Act category a major flop of the award?
Seriously, this is not to disregard her doggedness and fighting spirit over the years but taking a critical look at her career so far, you will discover this nomination needs questioning.
African Muzik Magazine Awards popularly known has AFRIMMA Awards released their nomination list few days ago and Candy Bleakz turned out to be the only Nigerian female rapper in the Best Female Rap Act category. CLICK HERE TO SEE FULL NOMINEES LIST

What Has Candybleakz Contributed To Rap Game From 2019 Till Date?
Candy Bleakz was lucky to have scored a major hit at the early stage of her career with Naira Marley and Zlatan assisted song titled “Owo Osu“.
“Owo Osu” which wasn’t a pure rap song was released around June 2019 and the song raked in a whole lots of numbers due to the buzz around Zlatan and Naira Marley at that time.
Aparently, the success of “Owo Osu” got her the record deal at Chocolate City and her heavily promoted singles “Kelegbe” and “Won La” under the record label didn’t really make much mark as “Owo Osu“.
As a matter of fact, with “Owo Osu“, “Kelegbe” and “Won La“, Candy Bleakz should desist from parading herself as an Indigenious rapper because those songs are more of street dancehall jam than rap.
If a Nigerian must be in that “Best Female Rap Act” category at the AFRIMMA Awards, maybe it shouldn’t have been Candy Bleakz, except there was a Chocolate City influence in the nomination.
Anyways, congratulations to Candy Bleakz on the nomination and of course all Nigerian music lovers should support her to win but the question is
