Popular food blogger, Lindsay Ostrom has shared the recipe for preparing yummy, Rigatoni With Sausage and Kale, on social media, via her Instagram page, “Pinch of Yum”.
According to Lindsay, pasta does not have to be so boring when you can spice it up with a number of ingredients that have been provided below.
“Legit, this pasta deserves a whole parade. Crisp sausage and sautéed kale swooped in a creamy tomato sauce with an aggressive garlic treatment, speckled with parm and red pepper flakes.
The perfect chewy floppy oversized pasta tubes, aka rigatoni, soak up every last delicious bit of flavor. Sound the trumpets and alert the Grand Marshal – this one is marching straight into our hearts.”
1 lb rigatoni + 2 cups reserved pasta water
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups chopped fennel or celery
1 large yellow onion, chopped
1 lb Italian sausage
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fennel seeds, crushed or chopped*
1/4 cup tomato paste
1 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
1 1/4 cups heavy cream
2 cups chopped kale
1 teaspoon salt
freshly grated Parmesan cheese
red pepper flakes
