Spirituality and religion has played a very vital role in the artistic narrative of Kanye West. And that inspiration has been at his forefront from earlier this month. However, the popular American artist is said to be considering making his Sunday service series a more permanent fixture by starting his own church. Reports have it that West Sunday service is clearly heavily Christianity-inspired, Kim Kardashian wife of American artist West also described the Sunday service as a “healing experience”. And as Kim has said, “the gatherings contain no prayer or traditional sermon”.
It was also said that, Kanye’s church isn’t pointed at the normal “three-hymns-and-a-sermon-thing”, but he describes it as a way of pointing people to Jesus through the arts and through a community of people who love and care for each other.
A source also disclosed that Kanye has recently spent most of his time praying and understanding his faith, he believes in the healing power of music but also believes that God can also step in and heal people.
Someone who nicknamed himself Yeezus posed on the cover of the Rolling Stone, titled tracks, “I Am A God” and “Jesus Walks” and rapped about being “a close high” to Jesus. And Kanye West has always been outspoken when it comes to faith.
Kim explained that Sunday service is more of just a healing experience than a religious one. She said, “There’s no praying, no sermon, no word, just music and just a feeling and it’s Christian.” So, it’s like a high-vibe spiritual Christian concert that’s welcoming of celebrities and other musicians. So the question is; “Is Kanye starting a new religion?”
