Nigerian singer, Adedamola Adefolahan popularly known as Fireboy DML, has spoken about becoming the first Nigerian artist to feature on football simulation game FIFA 21.
FIFA 21 is an upcoming football simulation video game published by Electronic Arts as part of the FIFA series. It is the 28th installment in the FIFA series, and will be released on 9 October 2020 for the Microsoft Windows system and on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, with versions for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia being released at an unspecified date. It was revealed on 18 June 2020 at EA Play Live. EA Play took place on EA Sports’ official Twitch account due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kylian Mbappé was confirmed as the cover star for all editions. It is the first edition of the series to be released in October since FIFA 10. For the first time it will have New Features On Career Mode.
With fans able to play FIFA 21 in just a few days time, EA have today confirmed the full soundtrack for the game.
The FIFA 21 and Volta Football soundtracks will feature over 100 artists from 23 different countries including the top Nigerian acts.
The deal negotiated by EMPIRE Publishing & YBNL makes Fireboy the first Nigeria-based artist featured in the official FIFA 21 game soundtrack which is set for launch worldwide on the 9th of October 2020, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. His song, Scatter is set to feature on the main game, which is a huge one for the singer.
In a chat with Goal, Fireboy DML revealed that he is delighted with this feat, as it feel it would help keep in legacy forever.
“My second studio album, ‘Apollo’ is about evolution, growth, love and the pain that comes with it. My legacy will not be forgotten.”
